Calling ALL Cub Scouts!!!

How does four days and three nights camping in the wilderness sound? While you are there you can swim, shoot arrows and bb-guns, and complete rank requirements or earn pins or belt loops. Parents: Join your son in a great adventure at Rancho Alegre Cub Resident Camp from July 21-24. Do some fantastic things during your stay and watch your son grow and mature.

Resident Camp is a once a year opportunity to bond with your son in the outdoors. Cost is only $255 which covers both the Scout and one parent. See Registration Page for rates for additional adults or a sibling.

For more information, visit our Resident Camp web page. If you want to come, here are some links to forms you will need.

Rancho Alegre Summer Camp Has Openings for Provisional Scouts

Missed going to Summer Camp with your unit?  Do you still need more merit badges to make Eagle? Would you like another week in the great outdoors? Are the parents driving you crazy (or vice versa) and you just need to get away?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, why not attend Rancho Alegre Summer Camp as a Provisional Scout. We supply your unit leadership, and you work and live with Scouts like yourself who are there for the experience. One of the nice things at Rancho Alegre is that we offer all the Eagle Required Merit Badges (except Cycling). What would one week at camp mean? We even our offering two sessions of the newly Eagle-required Cooking Merit Badge.  Make a big leap on becoming Eagle! Cost is $350 which includes your food and activities for six days in the outdoors. We have two sessions: July 7-13 (Sun-Sat) and July 15-20 (Mon-Sat). Call Camp Director Wayne Rascati at 686-5167 (weekdays) or check out the info on the Council website.

You get to sleep in the dormitories and have meals served to you in our dining hall. There will be classes certifying you in Basic First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. This program is open to youth (at least 15 years old) and adults; male and females; Scouts and non-Scouts (slightly higher fee). Cost is $300 for all this. Thinking About Summer 2014

Northern Tier High Adventure Camp is one of the hidden pearls of the Boy Scouts of America. There are always openings for units wanting to do canoe portages in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Manitoba Canada.  Check out this opportunity or check the Northern Tier website for other treks for your older Scouts.

Northern Tier – Bissett, Manitoba - Canada
An Unsurpassed Wilderness

Northern Tier provides epic wilderness canoeing trips in remote Manitoba Canada. Trips feature a float plane ride, unsurpassed freshwater fishing and hundreds of thousands of acres of virgin wilderness to explore. This is one trip that will change your life.

Every summer, hundreds of Scouts head to the most remote Boy Scout High Adventure base for a once in a lifetime wilderness canoeing expedition. Trips begin by meeting your “Interpreter” who is a trained Northern Tier staff member that will accompany you on your trip. Northern Tier provides full outfitting for your trek. A float plane ride to the canoe cache begins your trip. After that, you can decide which of the less traveled trails you want to follow. Crews typically paddle a mixture of lakes and rivers. It is common for crews in Bissett not to see anyone other than their crew for their entire trip. There are also lots of fish to catch. After your trip, you will return by float plane to the base to enjoy a cleansing sauna.
