Year 2013, No. 19  --  October 25, 2013

AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR SCOUTING FAMILIES
SEEKING INPUT ON THE SCOUT SERVICE CENTERS

It is my honor to serve as the chair of the Los Padres Council Scout Service Center Task Force and work alongside six outstanding representatives from across the council – Jim Bartlett, Ron Harmon, Kat Keith, Alan Munch, Daun Putney and Trey Pinner. Our goal is to gather input from our Scouting families and develop a strategic plan for the Scout Service Centers for the next five years.

With input from Scout Store Managers, we have compiled a brief survey through Survey Monkey to be emailed out to all registered Scout leaders and have provided the following link for anyone interested to provide input https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ScoutServiceCenterAssessment

Our task force will continue to meet to discuss and develop operational strategies for the service centers. And, we welcome your continued input. Please feel free to forward your thoughts to our email box at LosPadresCouncil@Scouting.org

We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours in Scouting,
Paul Viborg, Chair
Scout Service Center Task Force

Popcorn Campaign

2013 popcorn patch

Is your unit selling popcorn? If not, why? This is one of the best fundraisers for Scouting. Trails End Popcorn is a quality brand with different types of popped and unpopped popcorn. Units who have participated with this program in prior years have Scouts who are able to attend Cub Resident Camp, Summer Camp, Philmont, or National Jamboree with little out-of pocket cash. To find out more about this year's Popcorn Campaign, go this link on the Los Padres Council website.  Check out this information, and if you still have questions, contact LPC Field Director Justin Jepsen at jjepsen@bsamail.org
