The 2018 District Kick-Off!!
What is the District Kick-Off?
You might ask yourself, why should I go to the District Kick-Off? Well there are a couple of important reasons. This is the time to receive the Council Calendar - to learn about events that will be scheduled over summer and the next coming months. What kind of events you ask? Popcorn Kick-Off, Fall Recruitment, Pinewood Derby, Shooting Sports, Scouting for Food, Camporee, Cub Scout Day Camp and Cub Scout Resident Camp for starters.
Also, you will have a chance to meet with the new District Executive, Jim Pyler, and members from the District Commissioner Staff and District Committee, to members who are in charge of every aspect of Scouting including: advancement, training and program. If you have ideas on how to help improve Scouting in our area, these are the people to talk to.
Trying to get a head start and plan popcorn into your pack or troop calendar? This is the place to find answers and get help.
Looking for training opportunities, but not sure who to speak with? Our training team will help answer questions about: Youth Protection, Merit Badge Counselor Training, BALOO, Leader Specific Training, Wood Badge, Life Guard Academy and more.
Are you new to Scouting? This is the best opportunity to learn everything there is to know about the upcoming year.
Are you a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Venturing Crew Advisor or Explorer Advisor? This is a great opportunity to learn everything that is relevant and occurring in your area and how to be more involved.
Will there be food? Absolutely! Dinner will include hamburgers, beans and salad, as well as vegan burgers and beans (not mandatory, but we would ask for a $5 donation in support).
So where and when is it?
Our District Kick-Off is scheduled for May 10th
Starting at 6:15 PM at the LDS Church in Santa Barbara
Address: 2107 Santa Barbara St, CA 93105
We look forward to seeing you there!!
