Section Work Day at Rancho Alegre
Section W4N of the Order of the Arrow has volunteered to help with a service project at Rancho Alegre following last year's devastating destruction by the Whittier Fire. We are thankful to the members of the other six Southern and Central California Councils have come forward to help with our camp.
Our combined lodges will be doing work to restore the Rancho Alegre Archery Range. Cost is only $5 to help defray the expense of meals and refreshments.
Chumash Lodge 90 members are requested to come out to thank our brothers from the other Council and to help restore the Archery Range for future generations of Scouts using Rancho Alegre. There will be a lot of fun and fellowship as we work together in Brotherhood.
If you are arriving overnight, please remember to bring tent, sleeping bag, etc. Remember you 10 essentials and your Scout Uniform. Otherwise, please show up early Saturday morning to be part of the day's activities.
We do request that everyone pre-register for this event. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a service project. Work gloves, protective goggles, and small tool kits also would be welcome.
Cub Scouts were introduced to Archery as a sport through our twice annual Cub Scout Shooting Sports Days, Webelos Woods, and Cub Resident Camp. Boy Scouts enjoyed the Archery Range at Camporees and Summer Camp. Archery Merit Badge was a major program feature at Boy Scout Summer Camp.
